The inspiration for the redesign came from the need to make the product stand out in an increasingly crowded market. The agency decided to change the bottle form and introduce an original corking with wax, which instantly grabs the consumer's attention. The label design also underwent significant changes, with a new color scheme of a black field and bronze elements that exude a sense of style and high quality.
ShumiLoveDesign's task was to create a design that was original, vivid, and attractive, yet still retained the brand's recognizability. The agency's solution was to design a label that appears to wrap around the entire bottle. The front and back labels have edges styled as perforated pieces, creating an impression of continuity. This unique feature sets the design apart from others in the market.
The design process involved substantial changes to both the bottle and the label. The new bottle form and the original corking with wax make the product stand out, while the label design, with its black field and bronze elements, gives an instant impression of the product's high level. The label dimensions are 130 mm x 87 mm at the front and 90 mm x 87 mm at the back for label 1, and 120 mm x 96 mm at the front and 83 mm x 96 mm at the back for label 2.
The project was carried out from June to December 2016 in Moldova. The brand had been developed by the agency's specialists in 2008 and had gained notoriety both domestically and internationally. However, with the introduction of many new players in the signature wine niche, the Et Cetera brand was somewhat lost in the competition. The redesign was a response to this challenge, and it successfully revitalized the brand.
The redesign of the Et Cetera Premium wine label has been recognized for its excellence. It was awarded the Golden A' Packaging Design Award in 2017, a prestigious accolade granted to outstanding and trendsetting creations that advance art, science, design, and technology. The award is a testament to ShumiLoveDesign's innovative approach and the success of the Et Cetera Premium redesign.
